ITINERARY

DAY ONE: Touch down in the lively city of Casablanca, your gateway to Morocco, and settle into your comfortable retreat for the next few days. Take a moment to unwind, perhaps a power nap to combat any jet lag, and get ready for an evening feast curated by one of the city’s renowned female chefs.

DAY TWO: Dive into Fez’s captivating history and culture with a full-day tour led by an expert female guide. Step into the UNESCO-listed Fez El-Bali, exploring its narrow streets, bustling souks, and historic mosques. From the iconic Bab Bou Jeloud to the enchanting Attarine Medersa, experience the city’s rich heritage before exploring Fez El-Jdid, home to the Royal Palace and the stunning Merinid Tombs.

DAY THREE: Embrace an intricate Fessi Embroidery workshop in a charming valley village, where remarkable women preserve this incredible art form while fostering independence. After crafting your embroidered masterpiece, indulge in a delightful lunch at The Ruined Garden. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure.

DAY FOUR: Travel from Fez to Marrakech, settling into the Al Fassia hotel. Dive into Moroccan culture with a vibrant Henna Party and a delightful dinner, experiencing a truly Moroccan tradition.

DAY FIVE: Immerse yourself in Moroccan culinary heritage with a hands-on cooking class at the Amal Center, creating your own Moroccan dish while learning about local cuisine and culture. Enjoy a traditional tea ceremony and savor your delicious creations. Spend the evening at leisure or indulge in a Hammam experience before dinner at Al Fassia Gueliz.

DAY SIX: Explore Marrakech at your own pace in the morning, followed by a delightful lunch at NOMAD Marrakech. Later, journey to Scarabeo Camp in Agafay for a serene retreat amidst the rocky desert. Relax by the pool, experience a magical camel ride at sunset, and enjoy dinner under the starlit sky.

DAY SEVEN: Say yes to an optional Hot Air Balloon experience over the desert in the morning before returning to Marrakech. Spend the afternoon shopping in the vibrant Medina with your guide, and round out the trip with a beautiful farewell dinner together.

DAY EIGHT: This is departure day, marking the end of your unforgettable Moroccan adventure. Don’t want to leave just yet? Add on a couple of extra days in Essaouira and explore the beautiful coast. In the small village of Sidi Kaouki, which boasts its own magnificent beach, a family of multigenerational women will welcome you into their home to share their expertise in extracting argan oil. Participate in a small workshop on argan oil extraction and the traditional preparation of bread. Enjoy a family moment savouring mint green tea with its Berber touch, along with bread, amlou, and argan oil.

Whether you explore the coast or not, your departure point will be Marrakech. End this trip with heartfelt hugs and carrying cherished memories of the vibrant culture and experiences that defined your journey.

This trip supports: Amal Nonprofit

Amal Nonprofit is a women’s training centre in Marrakech that supports courageous women on their journey towards empowerment and financial independence.

Amal offers a unique training program for women to learn the ropes of cooking in a professional setting. Their trainees learn by doing under the guidance of experienced chefs to earn a valuable skill-set that helps them secure their first job in the local food sector. In addition, the training program includes classes in French and life skills, as well as fun, enriching experiences like yoga or art classes. Since opening in 2013, Amal Nonprofit has trained over 300 women, with an employment rate of over 80%! This incredible organization is literally empowering women, one meal at a time.
